Our work at The Gazebo of Thornhill
SKYPOLE completed window cleaning across 17 floors of common areas at 8111 Yonge Street in Markham, including lobby, library, solarium and difficult-access second-floor glazing.
Located on Yonge Street near the Markham-Thornhill boundary, this project demonstrates SKYPOLE’s experience servicing large condominium properties throughout York Region and the GTA.
SKYPOLE completed a comprehensive condominium window cleaning project at 8111 Yonge Street in Markham, Ontario, servicing common-area glazing throughout this multi-storey residential property.
The project involved window cleaning across 17 floors of common areas, along with several specialized sections of the building that required careful access planning. These included lobby glazing, second-floor interior windows above the roof overhang, difficult-to-access exterior second-floor windows, library windows, and the exterior glass surrounding the solarium.
The Challenge
Large condominium properties often contain a mixture of easily accessible common-area windows and architectural glazing where access is considerably more challenging.
At 8111 Yonge Street, one of the main challenges was reaching glazing around the second floor and roof overhang, where conventional access was limited. The scope also extended beyond the main common-area windows to specialised areas such as the library and solarium.
With residents, building staff, entrances, walkways, and common spaces all needing to remain functional, the work required an organised approach to safety, access, and site coordination.
Our Approach
SKYPOLE planned the project around the different access requirements throughout the property rather than treating the entire building as one uniform window cleaning job.
Our team cleaned the common-area windows throughout the 17-floor scope, while adapting our methods for the more challenging sections of glazing.
Special attention was given to:
- Common-area windows throughout 17 floors
- Lobby glazing
- Interior second-floor glass above the roof overhang
- Difficult-to-access exterior second-floor windows
- Library windows
- Exterior solarium glass
- Challenging areas requiring additional access planning
By matching the cleaning and access method to each section of the property, SKYPOLE was able to address both the routine and more challenging glazing as part of one coordinated project.
The Result
The completed project improved the appearance and clarity of the building’s common-area glass while addressing several sections that can be more difficult to incorporate into routine property maintenance.
For condominium managers and property managers, this type of coordinated service means that standard common-area windows and challenging architectural glass can be handled by one experienced window cleaning company.
